We had a great Fourth, celebrating with close friends and family. The Sparrows came up (although we missed Grandma Barb), the Cosby's (John and Curt having survived their fishing boat capsizing), Debby, Trisha and Lola, Ty and Cori (who made awesome 4th of July fruit skewers and delicious cupcakes), Grandma and Grandpa Stanley, and Sean and Bridgett (my parents neighbors and frequent visitors of the backyard). We did the traditional 4th of July BBQ of burgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings. We played some croquet, basketball, blew bubbles, made a fire and toasted marshmallows for S'mores, played with squirt guns, and ended the night with a great fireworks show!!
Casey really enjoyed the fireworks and would clap his hands after one went off. But he only lasted about 20 minutes, as it finally got dark closer to 10:00pm and that is way passed his bedtime. He was all snuggled under blankets on my lap and was able to drift off to sleep. A perfect ending to a great 4th of July!
