Casey's Home Plate: Swim Like a Fish!

This week we started Parent-Tot Swim Class at Lakeshore Athletic Club. Casey's friend Issac is also in the class. Casey loves to splash in the bath and we had been working on floating on our back in the tub...so we though that he might enjoy swimming in a pool. We thought right! He is such a little fish. When we say "Casey do you want to go swimming?" He gets so excited and starts flapping his arm and kicking his feet with a huge grin on his face. He is a natural in the water. He isn't afraid to splash, kick, he likes water to be poured over his head. We have little floating ducks that he has to kick to while we hold him on his tummy. Last night he started using his arms to as sort of a make shift doggy-paddle. He likes to sit on the edge of the pool and we count to three and he slides in. They only problem is that he is so happy and excited by the water that he has a big open smile the whole time...so teaching him to close his mouth to dip his face in the water is difficult, but we are practicing that in the tub now too!
